Cigar Box Reliefs

This third round of experiments explores parts of a wedding dress liner, lining the walls of a collection of cigar boxes. These works are concerned with playing with the notions of the indexical object - the wedding dress, the cigar box - objects that have past life narratives. These ready-made objects are drawn from the researcher's domestic environment and are forced to co-exist together in small compositional space mounted on to a wall for display, the work explores these visual tensions and dialogues between installation, trompe-l'œil painting, packaging and shipment, ownership and possession, and cigars being celebratory objects of consumed on wins and achievements.
