Double Boxed Bride
This diptych experiment is an exploration of what can be realised with the final remains of the researcher's wedding dress. The image of the researcher as bride features within this acrylic on polythene installation painting, it includes indexical objects such as: the wedding dress, sections of hair extension, packaging polythene, and the traditional canvas stretcher frame on display through the polythene. The hair extension are echoed, and loosely embodied, by abstract gestural painterly marks surrounding the protagonist at the centre of the piece. The mirror image is an impression of itself but not entirely the same, this occurrence posed as an interesting finding to the researcher and will be explored further in future works.
